Christina Aguilera’s hits revamp
Christina Aguilera has revealed she only agreed to promote her Greatest Hits album if she could revamp her hits.
The Dirrty singer told the Daily Star when she released Keeps Gettin’ Better — A Decade of Hits this month, she insisted on putting a new twist on her classic, chart-topping singles.
Christina said: “I felt strongly that I had to reinvent some of the old tracks and give the fans something fresh, so I re-recorded a handful.
“There’s new songs and new versions of Beautiful and Genie In A Bottle which is called Genie 2.0.”
The 27-year-old star – who became a mother to son Max this year – is really proud to have a Greatest Hits record out already.
She said: “I have to take a step back and pinch myself because I’m still only 27. I’m really proud of my decade of hard work. A lot of pop stars don’t last the distance.”
Christina is signed to RCA records. Since 1999 she has released three studio albums, a Spanish album and a Christmas album.

Hits set tees up next Christina album
Beyond marking Christina Aguilera’s first decade in the business, the Nov. 11 Target exclusive “Keeps Getting Better: A Decade of Hits” serves as a sneak preview for the artist’s next RCA studio album.
Aguilera tells Billboard the as-yet-untitled set will arrive in summer 2009 and will be mostly produced by Linda Perry.
“With my last album, I had music that was very ’20s, ’30s and ’40s, and was very detailed and part of a very specific genre and sound,” she says. “But with this new album, I wanted to go in a completely opposite direction-a very futuristic, robotic sound and computer-sounding vocals. I’m experimenting with my voice in ways I’ve never done before, almost like a technical, computer-generated sound, which is different for me because I’m the type of vocalist that just belts. I’m always inspired by new things because I get bored.” Full Story?
